Karen Parsons Owner and Creative Director
You could say I was born to own a beauty
salon.
In fact, that's where my parents first
met. My mother Karen Parsons, my namesake,
was a shampoo girl for her sister Elaine
in the early 1960's at Erna and Yvette¹s
Coiffures in Lakewood, Ohio. My mother
didn't know it at the time, but Yvette
was her future mother-in-law. She was
set up on a blind date with my father
while working at the salon. The rest
is history!
When I was little, my grandmother,
mother and Auntie Elaine taught me almost
everything I know about beauty. The
rest I've learned on my own. Over the
years, I've traveled the globe to continue
my education and compete in numerous
hair and make up competitions. I enjoy
what I do and love making people feel
and look their best.
That's why I've decided to follow in the
footsteps of my mother and open my own
salon. It's an adventure that I would
like you to share with me. Please call,
stop by or just hang out at The Hair and
Face Lounge. Check out some original 60's
Salon memorabilia as well as everything
you need for today’s hair and face
needs from .
I promise you, you will not be disappointed. |

Drew Horton
Master Stylist
Life is and endless journey filled with
frustrations and challenges. Then one
day you find a hair stylist that you love.
Oh, that's me by the way. Allow me to
introduce myself, my name is Andrew Horton
but you can call me Drew. I was born on
the outskirts of Charlotte, NC on Lake
Norman. I have been in the hair industry
for over 7 years and locally for over 4 years. My
approach is to listen to my client and
apply my talents in cut color and style
to achieve a look that will make you want
to "Strut Your Stuff!"
I strive for knowledge and grasp every
opportunity for continuing education.
I have been to hair shows and classes
across the country and studied under some
of the greatest and most talented artist
today.
I'm often asked about my decision to become
a stylist. It's difficult to describe
my affection for this art. I have come
to the conclusion that it is my passion.
With some, hairstyling is a learned art
but with others it is born within. I was
born to become a stylist. I enjoy the
dynamics within the industry, the innate
search for the inspiration, the passion
for creativity, the value of the art,
and most importantly making people look
and feel their absolute BEST! As you already
know, your entire day (and innocent bystanders)
can suffer from the dreaded "bad
hair day". Come in and let me lend
a hand.
And remember...
If your hair isn't becoming to you,
then you should be coming to me! |

Kendall
Walls Stylist
I am from a lil’ city with a big
heart and now live in a big city with
a huge heart. I have always been a “people
person” that’s why I knew
every morning I could wake-up as a hairstylist.
Not only could I enjoy my passion for
people, but I could make them beautiful;
therefore, happy. What better job is there
than that? … Yeah I couldn’t
think of one either.
I have just recently married my wonderful
husband, Joey. I am not a mother yet,
but we do have a precious yorkie, Mya,
that we absolutely adore. Cosmetology
is something I take pride in and enjoy
doing and it is nice to be around others
that think the same way. My career as
a hairstylist has become such a highlight
of my life and I enjoy everything about
my job. Not to mention the amount of people
I come in contact with daily. There are
the amazing people I work with, the wonderful
clients I bring the beauty out of, and
the ones I feel like I know through the
many heart-to-hearts. This is all done
through the beautification process. So
this is my day every day why not be apart
of the wonderful experience. I mean seriously,
this is the perfect job for me. What else
could a girl ask for?
